The story behind the artwork
LOVE & HOPE, two of the world’s most powerful idioms, realised in Kristjana’s stunningly unique circular original 3D pieces. Kristjana first developed this style of artwork during lockdown, harnessing her creative energy and exploring what it means to be human. Each piece is rich in textural detail and includes a combination of vintage and modern embroidery as well as bejewelled elements. Prominent hero animals are set against a diorama base, a captivating tableau which Kristjana promises will take you on your own individual journey.
A fiesta of colour and texture, born of mankind’s most primaeval emotion and one that cannot be restricted or contained. Centre stage sits a giant bee, a symbol of rebirth, and guardian of the natural world, eternally linked with love, magic and romance. A ponderous kitten is given regal status, its third eye endowing a perception beyond ordinary sight. A stunning tableau filled with the fantastical and the natural, ready for the viewer to conceptualise their own interpretation of LOVE.

Bespoke Hand and laser cut paper collage. Digitally designed, hand sculpted paper elements are painstakingly pinned in place onto a thick foam board, creating a stunning three dimensional effect. Utterly unique in its composition and to its owner, an original artwork is one of its kind and cannot be replicated. Your piece will be the only piece like it, anywhere in the world.
